Abstract Developments is in search of a skilled Construction Site Manager to oversee our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

The Construction Site Manager is tasked with supervising designated projects, ensuring that they are completed on schedule and meet the high standards of quality expected in the construction industry. This role includes adherence to Abstract's safety protocols and ensuring compliance among all team members and subcontractors.

Core Duties:

  • Oversee internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and trades while adhering to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with Development Managers, Project Managers, and Sales Teams to ensure projects align with Abstract's standards.
  • Manage project budgets, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Provide weekly updates to Senior Superintendents and Project Managers regarding project status.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, perform weekly safety checks, and facilitate regular meetings with trades and consultants.
  • Maintain a detailed daily log of site activities, including weather conditions and trade work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations to prevent fines and project delays.
  • Foster a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Implement and manage the master construction schedule, updating it monthly in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Plan construction sequencing in partnership with Project Managers and ensure timely issuance of RFIs.
  • Prepare purchase orders and reconcile invoices with the finance department.
  • Track site staff hours and enter labor costs accurately into the accounting system.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to site staff, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Promote Abstract's Core Values and participate in company-sponsored events.
  • Coordinate design drawings and specifications to deliver the best construction product and experience to clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction supervision is required, preferably in custom homes, commercial developments, or multi-family projects.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in wood-framed or multi-family construction.

Education and Knowledge:

  • Must possess recent, relevant experience and expertise in all aspects of construction, including methods, materials, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends and innovations.
  • Familiarity with construction management tools and techniques, including project scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Formal certifications such as RSE, GSC, AScT, or P. Eng are advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to inspire and lead others.
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in technical communication in English.
  • Ability to estimate materials needed for efficient project execution.
  • Competence in using power and hand tools, as well as measuring devices.

Work Schedule:

The Construction Site Manager typically works full-time hours, generally from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, on the construction site. Availability outside of regular hours may be required for site emergencies, and occasional weekend or evening work may be necessary to maintain project timelines.
