About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction General Manager to join our team at Sandmere Construction. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of our construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Develop and implement effective leadership strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
    • Lead and manage a team of 11-15 people, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
  • Project Management
    • Authorize and organize the establishment of major construction projects and associated senior staff positions.
    • Coordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Financial Management
    • Establish financial and administrative controls to ensure the effective management of company resources.
    • Formulate and approve promotional campaigns to drive business growth and improve market share.
    • Approve overall human resources planning to ensure the company has the right people with the right skills to meet its business objectives.
  • Communication and Representation
    • Represent the company, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company, in negotiations or other official functions.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as construction management, business administration, or a related field.
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and suppliers.
    • Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Work Environment
    • Willing to travel, with travel expenses paid by the employer.
    • Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and a fast-paced work environment.
