As a Site Lead in Alberta, you will play a pivotal role in the management and maintenance of wind turbine installations.
Position Overview:
In your capacity as Site Lead, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operational integrity of wind turbines and associated systems. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and resolving operational issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining high-performance levels of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and training to Service Technicians to ensure they are proficient in assembly, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of wind turbine systems.
- Support technicians in executing preventative maintenance tasks, including various diagnostic surveys.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components associated with wind turbines.
- Conduct safety assessments to identify potential hazards in operational areas.
- Train staff on the correct use of safety equipment and protocols to promote a safe working environment.
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis techniques to effectively address equipment failures.
- Manage tool and spare parts inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Foster a collaborative environment among Service Technicians.
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor the scheduling of preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain necessary certifications and training qualifications.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the wind energy sector.
- Preferred educational background includes an associate degree or technical certification.
- Proficiency in using mechanical and electrical testing tools.
- Ability to work with medium and high-voltage systems.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with standard software applications.
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and shifts.
- Physical ability to perform tasks at heights and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in diverse weather conditions and environments.
- Possession of a valid Canadian driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must meet Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) weight standards.
- Ability to travel internationally and work in Canada without sponsorship.
