About the Role:

Giant Tiger is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier (Part-Time) to join our team in Espanola. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service at the checkouts
  • Accurately record customer transactions in electronic cash register, mainline and self checkouts (SCOs)
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area
  • Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
  • Ensure Loss prevention best practices are followed
  • Ensure compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery

Requirements:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Schedule:

A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly. A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

  • Stand and/or walk
  • Bend, twist, and squat

  • Perform tasks involving firm grasping
  • Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
  • Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
  • Operate equipment, including using a ladder
