Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist 2 to join our team at PHSA. As an Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating cancer patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of cancer patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, registered dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families on swallowing, speech, and language rehabilitation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized university program.
  • Three years of recent experience working with oncology patients in a hospital, rehabilitation, or outpatient setting.
  • Eligible for certification with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada.
  • Registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
  • Certified Practice Certificates in Videofluoroscopic Assessment and Management of Adult Swallowing Disorders, Tracheoesophageal Voice Restoration Assessment and Management, Communication and Swallowing Assessment and Management for Tracheostomy, and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Voice and Swallowing (FEEVS) for Adult.
