Key Responsibilities

As a Virtual Business Consultant, you will be part of our Business Client Advice Centre (BCAC), reporting directly to the Team Leader of Business Banking. Your role will involve delivering an outstanding virtual experience to both new and existing clients, aligning with CIBC's mission to enhance client relationships and foster loyalty. You will assist business clients in achieving their immediate and long-term objectives by thoroughly understanding their financial and operational needs, while also identifying opportunities to strengthen our partnerships. Your support will extend to addressing clients' daily business requirements, ensuring their cash management and basic credit needs are met, and facilitating introductions to relevant internal partners for more complex requests.

At CIBC, we provide a flexible work environment that allows you to excel in your position. You will primarily work remotely, with occasional on-site requirements discussed during the interview process.

All employees must comply with program requirements and be prepared to attend their primary work location on short notice for business-related matters.

Program Requirements

  • Ability to work independently from home with a secure workspace, free from distractions.
  • A reliable wired internet connection that supports high-quality calls and fast response times (minimum download speed of 15 mbps and upload speed of 10 mbps).
  • Use of satellite internet providers is not permitted due to potential impacts on call quality.

The Business Client Advice Centre (BCAC) operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET. Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate client needs and branch schedules.

Core Functions

  • Client Engagement - Interact with business clients and internal partners through phone and video conferencing to understand and fulfill their business requirements. Provide insightful guidance and support through exploratory discussions to meet their needs and direct high-value clients to the appropriate relationship teams. Recommend suitable products based on their financial needs, while identifying cross-selling opportunities to enhance Business Banking growth.
  • Operational Effectiveness - Conduct thorough analyses and provide recommendations for credit submissions, ensuring compliance with lending policies. Accurately document clients' financial information and adhere to CIBC's policies and procedures in all dealings.
  • Collaboration - Facilitate introductions for high-value clients to Relationship Managers in Business Banking as their needs evolve. Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in Credit Risk Management and Retail Lending Services to address any challenges.
  • Digital Advocacy - Promote the use of digital banking solutions, guiding clients to alternative banking methods such as ATM, Mobile, and SmartBanking for Business.

Who You Are

  • Experience: You possess 2-3 years of experience in a professional, fast-paced sales and service environment, ideally within the financial services sector or a Client Contact Centre.
  • Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of business banking products, credit analysis, and risk management principles.
