About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Site Services division at Bruce Power. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing capital and maintenance projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams responsible for delivering projects and hold accountability for the entire project life cycle until closeout.
  • Direct the project team's execution of project delivery processes and reporting systems to ensure consistent, effective, high-quality project management.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets from development through closeout, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed-upon schedules and costs.
  • Provide leadership on day-to-day project delivery activities, ensuring adherence to safety, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Lead the project team in maintaining compliance with Industrial and Environmental safety and uphold the Bruce Power's number one value, Safety First.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks and problems proactively, and when unable to be anticipated, issues are resolved at the right level.
  • Integrate all processes and functions involved in the project, including planning, engineering/design, construction, commissioning, and other technical functions.

Reporting, Commercial, and Contractual

  • Prepare project reports required to communicate status within Site Services.
  • Responsible for the initiation, management, and control of all contracts associated with the execution of projects, meeting safety, quality, and performance requirements within budget and schedule commitments.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with Bruce Power standards and procedures, including start-up and shutdown activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring commitments are met in the areas of safety, budget, quality, and schedule.

Planning and Staff Leadership

  • Evaluate workload projections and staffing requirements pertaining to assigned projects, based on resource-loaded schedules.
  • Effectively manage resources to meet project requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the work and performance of team members, either Bruce Power or contracted resources, through regular individual supervision.
  • Accountable for the quality of the work of the team.
  • Guide and coach staff on how to proceed when problems are encountered, ensuring that they are resolved promptly and that decisions and initiatives are in line with Site Services goals and strategies.
  • Promote a work environment characterized by teamwork, transparency, integrity, and respect.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Highly developed skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication, quick to adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent proven knowledge of project management fundamentals, including scheduling, risk, cost management, and contract management.
  • The ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, with a high degree of initiative.
  • Business acumen in capital projects management planning and estimating.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including proven ability to adapt to a highly technical environment.
  • Ability to manage key stakeholder interests while managing conflicting priorities and business interests.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract and claim management of large contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with senior stakeholders of the company.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of modifications and the interfaces required with engineering, procurement, and trades to execute the project.

Education and Experience

  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and build multi-functional project teams to execute multi-million EPC projects in accordance with the established Bruce Power Project Management guidelines or similar based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
