Strategic Communications Specialist

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join their team. This role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating communication strategies, programs, and activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and managing strategic communications plans to achieve organizational goals
  • Overseeing communications projects, including media relations, crisis communications, and internal communications
  • Providing strategic counsel to senior officials on communications matters
  • Planning and executing special events, conferences, and other communications initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government officials, and community groups

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong background in writing and editing communications materials, including press releases, media kits, and social media content
  • Experience in internal communications, including employee engagement and change management
  • Ability to research and analyze complex communications issues and develop effective solutions
  • Experience with communications software, including content management systems and social media platforms
  • Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
