We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Therapist to join our team at the Woodland Wellness Centre in La Ronge, SK.
About the Role:The successful candidate will provide trauma-focused counseling and therapy services for children, youth, and adults who have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. They will work closely with other multidisciplinary team members to provide support for children, youth, and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Counsel survivors of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, including residential school survivors and their families.
- Use knowledge of family violence treatment, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma treatment, and processing of negative emotions to provide effective therapy services.
- Provide trauma-focused counseling and trauma recovery therapy services for children, youth, and adults.
- Ability to make appropriate assessments and treatment plans based on a holistic approach.
- Facilitate support and therapy groups for children, youth, and non-offending caregivers.
- Evaluate the needs of the child and family and provide appropriate referrals and information.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records of all client contacts.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of clinical experience working in child and youth counseling services.
- Registration and good standing with a licensed Professional Association.
- Experience working with First Nations people and communities.
- Extensive training and experience in Critical Incident Stress debriefing (CISD) and processing traumatic experiences.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic and counseling modalities.
- Experience in integrating traditional and contemporary counseling approaches.
