We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Integration and Test Specialist to join our team at Telesat. As a key member of our System Engineering department, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our Telesat LEO constellation communication system.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and maintain system verification and validation plans for the Telesat LEO system.
- Participate in system-level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in satellite communications and support other technical staff as required.
- Develop and maintain test cases, test beds, and other necessary tools for various test scenarios.
- Perform hands-on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path and routing features.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as DevOps, Ground Systems, and Satellite, to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Play an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities.
- Configure test equipment, such as satellite link emulators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and traffic generators.
- Ensure that the product under test meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.
- Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering, and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in satellite communications.
- Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards, such as DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc.
- Strong understanding of Linux, IP, and routing protocols.
- Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation, and coding, and its impact on satellite link performance.
- Experience with test case and defect tracking tools, such as Jira and Jama.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience with various traffic generators, such as Ixia and Spirent.
- Highly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of coworkers and teammates.
- Proficient with MATLAB, Python, or C++.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Automation experience with programming languages, such as Python.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
