Key Responsibilities:
The summer student will serve as an Educational Program Coordinator with the CWB Welding Foundation, assisting the Program Manager with various program-related tasks, including but not limited to, initiatives organized by the CWB Welding Foundation.
Responsibilities will encompass the development and execution of programs aimed at enhancing awareness and education in welding, encouraging individuals to consider careers in welding and other skilled trades. The program will focus on eliminating barriers to participation, particularly for underrepresented groups such as women, Indigenous peoples, racialized communities, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others.
This role will primarily operate from a home office, with occasional travel to events and conferences hosted by partner organizations. The position may require evening and/or weekend work to support community engagement and events as necessary.
Specific Duties Include:
Program Planning
Coordinate and distribute all internal and external materials related to program planning to host organizations. Communicate with host organizations to gather all necessary signed documentation prior to program commencement. Collaborate with other CWBWF staff to facilitate program planning. Address program inquiries received. Assist with marketing and promotional activities for programs. Research events and activities in designated regions to identify potential opportunities for delivering CWBWF programs and provide recommendations to the Program Manager. Enter program data into various databases using CRM and Microsoft Office suite, ensuring all information is current and accurate.Program Delivery
Act as the CWBWF representative during program delivery and events. Coordinate with members of host organizations to arrange logistics for programs at each location. Oversee program delivery at each site, providing support to host organizations as needed. Prepare and distribute all internal and external materials related to program delivery. Assemble program packages (e.g., promotional items) required for each program and ensure timely shipping to identified host organizations. Organize activities to support the delivery of camps and programs. Capture photographs of camp activities for promotional purposes and collaborate with the Communications Officer to ensure timely submission of photos. Serve as the liaison between host organizations and CWBWF staff during program delivery.Program Evaluation and Reporting
Compile program statistics based on evaluations and report findings to the Program Manager, making recommendations for quality improvements. Complete program/event reports for the Program Manager following the conclusion of programs or events and debrief the CWBWF team as necessary. Submit travel expense reports to the Program Manager for approval in a timely manner. Maintain a database of program information (e.g., participants, locations, etc.) regularly.In this role, you will report to the Program Manager and work from your home office, with occasional travel required. CWB has adopted a remote-first working model, allowing employees to work from home while servicing clients in their designated areas, either remotely or in person. Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). Post-secondary education in welding, welding technology, or a related field. Experience in customer service. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Experience in not-for-profit sectors, customer service, business administration, including accounting, advancement services, and digital/database management. Proficient in Microsoft Office/Teams, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Attention to detail and high accuracy in work. Willingness to travel as required. Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.Preferred Qualifications:
One year of customer service experience, along with project management experience or knowledge. Bilingual in English and French. Experience or coursework in project management. Familiarity with database management systems. Knowledge of skilled trades, including apprenticeship.Accommodation:
