The Project Management Technical Consultant delivers program and project management expertise to facilitate the execution of infrastructure and environmental initiatives.
The individual serves as a technical advisor for Client-Partners, offering assistance and generating outputs for intricate infrastructure and environmental undertakings.
The role involves conducting research, performing studies, and executing assessments to provide informed technical guidance to Client-Partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching, preparing, and presenting documentation necessary for extensive projects (e.g., approvals, statements of work, project charters, budgets, policies, and procedures).
- Managing projects from initiation through to completion for infrastructure and environmental initiatives, which encompass new construction, significant recapitalization, and environmental assessments and remediation.
- Assisting Client-Partner project approval workflows by streamlining decision-making within Client-Partner organizations through the development of business case analyses, functional space programming, and other essential documentation.
- Engaging in procurement planning and drafting tender documents.
- Acting as the representative of the project director or project manager, within delegated signing authority.
- Updating program and project databases.
- Monitoring and controlling project timelines and expenditures.
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards, in alignment with corporate and Client-Partner expectations.
- Complying with Client-Partner project management policies and procedures.
- Following Treasury Board Secretariat policies and procedures.
- Applying project and risk management principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
A college diploma in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline with five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A university degree in one of the aforementioned fields and/or additional training or experience in project management.
Proficiency in applicable computer software and operating systems.
Ability to implement project and risk management techniques.
Typical office environment with occasional travel required.
Some responsibilities may take place on construction sites; as a Project Management Technical Consultant, your compensation package is valued at 25% to 30% of your salary.
Benefits include 100% employer-paid annual sick leave, health and dental premiums, and life, accidental death, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
~$750 Health Care Spending Account (for certain medical expenses not covered under provincial plans or standard insurance).
~ Hybrid workplace options with a $400 allowance every two years to support remote work arrangements.
