Job Overview:

Under the guidance of a Fully Qualified Certifier, the Level I Certifier engages in straightforward certification projects. This role involves making informed technical decisions based on acquired knowledge and training to uphold the integrity of the CSA Mark. The Certifier will develop their theoretical and practical skills to address routine certification challenges, seeking mentorship for more complex issues. Exposure to all facets of Certification and Testing, including laboratory evaluations and field services, is crucial for the Certifier's ongoing training and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Uphold safety standards by maintaining a clean workspace and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently. Tackle projects of limited complexity, progressively increasing in difficulty as skills develop. Employ standard engineering methodologies and procedures to address client inquiries and resolve issues. Analyze technical challenges to accurately interpret requirements within the designated area of responsibility. Collaborate with a mentor to ensure timely project completion. Prepare work orders for testing programs, with guidance as needed, and work alongside Lab Staff and Mentors to identify relevant tests. Generate certification reports, Certificates of Compliance, and other CSA documentation. All assignments will undergo review by qualified certifiers for precision, thoroughness, and adherence to quality standards. Seek technical support from qualified personnel and assigned mentors as necessary. Engage in ongoing training through the CSA Group training system, including online resources and mentorship, to advance knowledge in the assigned product or standard area.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience Certified Engineering Technologist/Technician or Licensed Tradesperson with 3-5 years of industry experience Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, including operational principles and calibration processes, as well as general laboratory protocols Additional skills and experience may be necessary based on the specific needs of the business unit
