About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at VAL/MAR Construction Inc. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and Troubleshoot Irregularities: Identify and resolve issues with machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Repair and Replace Defective Parts: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the necessary materials and resources required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Install Machinery and Equipment: Install new machinery and equipment, and ensure they are properly integrated into our operations.
Work Environment and Conditions
  • Noisy and Dusty Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced, noisy, and dusty environment, with exposure to heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Physically Demanding: Perform tasks that require physical stamina, including handling heavy loads and working in confined spaces.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective repairs.
  • Work Under Pressure: Work in a high-pressure environment, with deadlines and tight timelines to meet.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Secondary Education: Possess a secondary education certificate, such as a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have at least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Hours: Work 35 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
