About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to join our team at Gottardo Group of Companies. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a new hotel project in Aurora, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall construction management, including design, budget, and schedule coordination with the Project Manager, Subcontractors, Owner, Engineers, and Architects.
  • Manage work on-site to ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, and ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
  • Advise the Project Manager and senior management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and assist in resolving these issues.
  • Manage the work activities of direct reports and administrative documentation as required in cooperation with appropriate departments.
  • Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, and ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
  • Site Logistics (layout, including trailers, access, and storage, erosion and sediment controls, waste management, etc.).
  • Ability to proactively identify technical challenges and solutions to the project structure and envelope, working with the Construction Sciences department.
  • Site office setup (temporary power, water, heating).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ICI construction.
  • Finishing experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and project management.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions, and lead a large team to successful completion.
  • Strong scheduling experience with a proven ability to develop, maintain, and execute both long-term and short-term schedules.
  • Understanding of the Building Code and local by-laws.
  • Understanding of Prime Contract Requirements.
  • Understanding of types of subcontract agreements (design-build, design-assist, lump sum, contract management, and P3).
