About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Lead Educator to join our team at Kids U. As a Lead Educator, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that inspires children to think creatively and explore their interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Plan and implement open-ended activities that foster collaborative learning and encourage children to respect themselves and others.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teams to plan and implement weekly lesson plans that align with the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
  • Child Development: Observe, follow, and document children's interests and curiosities to inform instruction and promote their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share children's learning moments, successes, and challenges.
  • Classroom Management: Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Professional Development: Participate in internal and external learning activities to stay up-to-date on Early Childhood Education research and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Early Childhood Certification and Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience working in a Reggio-inspired practice or emergent curriculum
  • Certifications: Alberta Child Care Certification Level 2 or higher, Current First Aid Certificate
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, and previous experience leading a team of teachers in a classroom environment
