Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, implementation, management, and assessment of both direct and indirect nursing care provided to surgical patients. The ideal candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and will rotate across various surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, vascular surgery, urology, otolaryngology, cystoscopy, and ophthalmology. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including on-call duties.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification approved by Heart & Stroke is required at the time of hire.
  • Perioperative Certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the operating room is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, employing critical thinking skills, and demonstrating a positive, caring attitude.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn are crucial.
  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands associated with the role.
  • A satisfactory employment and attendance record is required.
Additional Information

Work Schedule: Various rotating 8-hour shifts, including on-call evenings and weekends, subject to operational needs.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage ranging from $39.07 to $56.00.
