GFL Environmental is seeking a Scale Operator to join our team in a dynamic environment.

The primary responsibility of the Scale Operator is to accurately measure, weigh, and inspect equipment to maintain relevant records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and weigh incoming and outgoing trucks to ensure accurate records.
  • Communicate with on-site crew via radio to provide updates on truck contents and loading status.
  • Maintain and update records with GFL loader operators through radio communication.
  • Provide custom TDG paperwork to outbound trucks.
  • Assist office staff with custodial services and grounds keeping activities.
  • Empty trash daily and ensure proper disposal of trash and recycling.
  • Clean and maintain the scale house and surrounding area daily.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • A self-motivated individual with strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and written English.
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly.
  • Understanding of emergency and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions to ensure a safe work environment for customers and employees.
  • Onsite training will be provided.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel spreadsheets.

This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
