About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary Education Technology Instructor to join our team at School District #63 (Saanich). As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Utilize technology to enhance the learning experience and promote student engagement
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and innovation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education (Secondary) degree
  • BCIT Technology Education Teacher Certification or equivalent training and qualifications
  • Two years of successful experience teaching Technology Education at the secondary school level
  • Thorough knowledge of the Technology Education curriculum
  • Familiarity with WHMIS, MSDS, and appropriate health and safety regulations in a shop/lab
  • Demonstrated successful experience implementing and maintaining safety procedures
  • A high level of proficiency with computers in their use for instructional support
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of students in a positive and active learning environment
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adjust curriculum and assessment strategies to meet the needs of a wide range of students
