Health Care Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents and patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients.
- Assist with mealtime and hydration needs.
- Participate in care planning and implementation.
- Communicate effectively with residents, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
- One to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, working 7.75 hour shifts, with a mix of days, nights, and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be exposed to aggressive and/or agitated individuals.
