About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join our team in the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, intervention, teaching, research, and consultative services within an interdisciplinary approach to clinical care.

The primary focus of the service will be to address the psychosocial needs of veterans and residents living at Camp Hill Long Term Care, NSHA, as well as to provide support as appropriate to their significant others. The successful candidate will be required to provide 1:1 assessment and intervention, assist with the development of interdisciplinary care plans and provide consultation to other members of the Camp Hill health care team as well as to other health care providers.

The successful candidate will also be expected to provide support to the development of programs that support the psychosocial wellbeing of veterans and residents. The Psychologist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist (PhD) with a strong clinical health psychology background and experience working with elderly populations. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology and a one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship. Registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) is required.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating diagnoses and implementing treatment plans. They will be self-directed in their practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations. Experience in clinical supervision of psychology trainees and training program development and evaluation would be an asset.

Hours

This is a long assignment, part-time (50%) position with approximately 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be required to work a 12-month assignment.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $50.19 - $62.74 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
