About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer - Estimator to join our team at Powell Canada Inc. As a key member of our Sales and Estimating department, you will be responsible for developing detailed and comprehensive proposals that accurately depict a proper understanding of project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal Development: Review customer project documentation, including specifications, data sheets, and drawings, to gain a complete understanding of project requirements from a technical and commercial perspective.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to supporting departments, such as sales and other stakeholders, to ensure accurate and reliable proposals.
  • Estimate Preparation: Create Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule documents to accompany the estimate.
  • Proposal Presentation: Prepare and present overviews of proposals to clients and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Cost Analysis: Review product-specific cost data and conduct appropriate analysis using statistical tools and performance measurements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or a C.E.T. designation from an accredited technical institute, college, or University.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Estimating is considered an asset.
  • Skills: Familiarity with Metal Building Systems and Electrical Switchgear is considered an asset. Previous experience with AutoCAD and advanced Excel is preferred.
