The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Hematology/Oncology unit at IWK Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide occupational therapy services to children with hematological and oncological conditions. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, planning, and implementing treatment programs to enhance the occupational performance of our young patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate children's occupational performance and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Implement and evaluate treatment programs to improve occupational performance
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with parents, schools, and community agencies to arrange home programs and follow-up care
Requirements
  • Graduate of a World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT) approved occupational therapy program
  • Registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • Registered or eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)
  • Minimum one year experience in pediatrics, with a focus on hematological and oncological conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
