The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team, performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of technical language to review and use manuals and participate in relevant discussions
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $39.96.
