Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our Finance team at Lookout Housing and Health Society. As an Accounting Officer, you will provide support to the Finance team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reports.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process and reconcile Accounts Payable invoices, vendor statements, and cash and cheques.
  2. Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including preparing and submitting reports.
  3. Reconcile expense accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
  4. Support the team with special projects and general office tasks.
  5. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including Program Managers and designates, and external stakeholders, including funding bodies.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Ability to key 60 w.p.m. and demonstrated communication skills.
  • Ability to manage high workload with multiple priorities and perform work with a significant level of interruptions.
  • Good judgement, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial software, data management, and Excel.
