The Black family is currently seeking a dedicated residential housekeeper in Montreal.
Position Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the primary residence, ensuring the family's comfort and addressing the employer's diverse needs with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. This role involves collaboration with other household staff members and may require travel to a secondary residence during the summer months.
Key Responsibilities
- Housekeeping Duties:
- Perform thorough cleaning of the residence, including vacuuming, dusting, and mopping.
- Care for furniture and delicate surfaces, such as porcelain, crystal, silverware, and collectibles.
- Daily tidying of the home.
- Maintain and organize outdoor spaces and furnishings.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling.
- Laundry Responsibilities:
- Handle laundry, ironing, and care for clothing, linens, and towels, including delicate fabric hand-washing.
- Make beds and organize rooms on a daily basis.
- Coordinate dry cleaning services.
- Additional Tasks:
- Set tables, serve meals, and clean up afterward.
- Organize storage areas.
- Manage floral arrangements and plant care.
- Occasionally assist with event preparation and service.
- Provide occasional child supervision and transportation.
- Control entry by greeting guests and answering the telephone.
- Travel to the vacation residence as needed, primarily in summer.
- Address special requests as they arise.
- Coordinate maintenance services for the household.
- Oversee housekeeping for both primary and secondary residences.
- Facilitate effective communication among all household staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with property maintenance practices.
- Experience in the care of delicate surfaces and art objects.
- Experience in child care, including transportation and supervision.
