Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Engineering to lead our Insurance Technology team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of our technology strategy, leading cross-functional teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions that meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize product roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain technical strategies and architectures to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, product owners, and other technical teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or large-scale programs.
  • Strong technical background in software development and engineering practices.
  • Experience with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical vision and possibilities to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage through creative abrasion.
