Job Summary

As a Payroll Manager at Marriott International, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processes. This includes entering payroll data, auditing payroll records, and maintaining files and records to produce accurate payroll period reports.

Key Responsibilities


• Maintain knowledge of and comply with all payroll policies and procedures.


• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials.


• Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks according to department procedures.


• Enter new employee records in payroll system from information received from Human Resources, create a file, and include all designated forms and data.


• Review all Payroll Action Forms for complete information and ensure accuracy of figures; resolve discrepancies with Human Resources.


• Delete terminated employees from payroll system after printing employee's final check with specified deductions.


• Enter authorized status changes, rate changes, and transfers following hotel standards and files within one week of receipt.


• Back up transaction files and transmit by the time and date according to Finance procedures.


• Review payroll register form for accuracy.


• Copy/Print reports as directed and distribute to Human Resources, Assistant Director of Finance, and Director of Finance.


• Process authorized manual checks as needed, following manual check procedures.


• Maintain accurate record of all issued checks and ensure security of all unused checks.


• Process paycheck adjustments after reconciling discrepancy and post adjustment in payroll system using designated code.


• Generate new check according to Finance procedures.

Requirements


• High school diploma or GED; 1 year experience in finance and accounting or related professional area.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information regarding payroll records.


• Proficiency in computer systems and manual procedures used for payroll functions.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

• Competitive salary range: $62,539.00 to $108,401.00 annually (Prince Edward Island applicants only) or $69,488.00 to $132,490.00 annually (British Columbia applicants only).
