Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our production team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment on the factory floor, ensuring efficient production and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control equipment on the production line, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Unload trailers and dispose of distressed material, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Start up equipment at the beginning of the day or week, following departmental SOPs, and communicate status to relief operators.
  • Perform assigned tasks in the designated department, ensuring equipment is maintained and operates at optimal performance.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment as needed, dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling as required.
  • Accurately record monitoring tasks in department records, providing feedback on equipment performance.
  • Work closely with Department and Maintenance Supervisor, providing input on equipment performance and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to GMPs.

Requirements

  • Machine operating experience and/or mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards, GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, and food quality.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and effective multi-tasking.
  • Analytical skills, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Well-organized team player with good interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
  • High School Diploma required.
