About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Technician to join our team at Rockhill Contracting. As a key member of our outdoor maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the beauty and functionality of our clients' outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Landscaping and Maintenance: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective, including crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, and vista pruning.
  • Site Assessment and Planning: Survey and assess designated sites to determine the best course of action for landscaping and maintenance.
  • Plant Care and Watering: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products as needed.
  • Construction and Installation: Build models, interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation, and plan the incorporation of landscape structures.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and provide regular updates on project progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in landscaping or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work independently, attention to detail, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, ability to distinguish between colors, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, punctuality.
