Job Title: Senior Writer and Editor

Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Writer/Editor to join our team. As a key member of our Communications and Media department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality content that showcases our research and scientists to a global audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Author and edit feature and news articles about Perimeter science and scientists
  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our organizational goals
  • Collaborate with our research teams to identify and develop compelling stories about our work
  • Write, edit, and manage copy on our website and social media channels
  • Produce high-quality content for our publications, including print and digital materials
  • Assist with other communications activities, as assigned, in support of the Institute
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as a writer/editor
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., journalism, physics, English) or equivalent experience
  • A passion for science and a track record of excellence in authoring and creating articles, interviews, and/or videos and multimedia presentations on science
  • Demonstrated ability to tell compelling, human-centric stories for various audiences
  • Excellent research, reporting, and editorial skills
  • Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple short- and long-term projects
