Waterpark Supervisor

The Waterpark Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of the World Waterpark, ensuring the effective management of Waterpark personnel while delivering outstanding customer service to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the activities of Slide Attendants I and II, Lifeguards, Food and Beverage staff, and World Waterpark Guest Services.
  • Guaranteeing that team members are stationed appropriately and adhering to all expectations, policies, and procedures set forth by the World Waterpark.
  • Providing direct support to Aquatics, Food & Beverage, SkyFlyer Zipline, and World Waterpark Guest Service personnel in their daily tasks as required.
  • Conducting administrative tasks such as onboarding new employees, investigating incidents, evaluating employee performance, and implementing performance improvements.
  • Facilitating effective communication with staff regarding West Edmonton Mall and World Waterpark initiatives and programs.
  • Addressing guest inquiries and special requests, utilizing exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance at all times while enforcing safety regulations.
  • Actively contributing to the creation and maintenance of a safe environment for both staff and guests.
  • Responding to significant and minor first aid situations, assisting or overseeing staff providing first aid.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness of the World Waterpark and requesting cleaning assistance as necessary.
  • Serving as a role model for fellow staff members.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of staff training programs and procedures.
  • Performing other supervisory duties as required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of lifeguarding experience at World Waterpark.
  • Current certifications in Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care, National Lifeguard Pool, National Lifeguard Waterpark, Oxygen Administration, Lifeguard Fitness Skills, Oxygen Therapy, and ProServe.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a setting that necessitates strict compliance with safety regulations and procedures, managing a large staff and guest capacity.
  • Proven experience in effectively working with diverse employees, including mentoring newcomers to the workforce.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enhanced by team-building and motivational capabilities.
  • Background in guest service with the ability to cultivate positive interactions with the public, complemented by strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

Employment Terms:

  • This is a part-time role requiring flexible availability throughout the week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a warm and humid environment, in close proximity to water and chlorine.
  • Must successfully pass a basic security clearance.
