About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Cornwall Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including handling and restraining animals, preparing and administering medications, and conducting laboratory research.
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals, including routine dental procedures and assisting with animal dentistry.
  • Counsel clients on animal health care, providing education and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for their pets.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease.
  • Collaborate with our veterinary team to ensure seamless communication and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
  • College or CEGEP education in a relevant field.
  • Experience in a veterinary setting is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Initiative, organization, and a strong work ethic.
