Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Animal Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
- Provide Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
- Perform Routine and Emergency Exams: Conduct routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to ensure the health and well-being of animals.
- Offer a Range of Veterinary Services: Provide obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia services, as well as supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers.
- Collaborate with Clients: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide personalized advice and care for their animals.
- Licensure and Certification: Hold licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Experience and Education: Possess a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, and have 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field.
- Language and Communication: Be fluent in English and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
