About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team at Nexus Systems Group Inc. as an API Expert. This is a key role that will play a critical part in the development and maintenance of our complex large-scale customer-facing platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Problem Analysis and Resolution

Quickly analyze available data to identify the root cause of production issues and implement effective solutions.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance and support to teams, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and user satisfaction.

API Development and Maintenance

Design, develop, and maintain public and internal REST APIs, ensuring scalability and performance.

APM Tool Expertise

Utilize APM tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk to monitor and optimize system performance.

DevOps and CI/CD

Collaborate with teams to implement DevOps practices, ensuring seamless integration with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.

Requirements
  1. Technical Expertise

10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in Java and Springboot.

API Development

5+ years of experience in building public and internal REST APIs.

APM Tool Proficiency

2+ years of experience with APM tools, with recent projects showcasing expertise.

DevOps and CI/CD

5+ years of combined experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, and Bitbucket, with a preference for Launch Darkly.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Industry Experience

FI / Digital banking experience is preferred but not required.

Agile Environment

Experience working in an Agile environment is highly desirable.

Mac Laptop Experience

Experience working on Mac laptops is a plus.

Soft Skills
  1. Communication Skills

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Influencing Decision Making

Ability to distill technical details into simple terms and influence decision making across stakeholders.

Education

Bachelors or equivalent in computer science or a related field is preferred.
