The Role

We are seeking a skilled Product Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for:

  • Learning and analyzing business operations, processes, and technology landscape to identify opportunities for improvement and maximize value.
  • Engaging with business and technical stakeholders to define and document business requirements, product visions, and function designs.
  • Communicating the product vision and providing direction to delivery squads and other stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Prioritizing and managing product backlogs, including writing user stories, epics, bugs, and test cases to ensure work is focused on delivering maximum value and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Managing product design, dependencies, and trade-offs, and resolving cross-team dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Leading delivery squads through iterative releases, adapting a scrum framework with a focused attention on in-sprint commitments and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring product quality by defining and refining acceptance criteria and participating in testing and validation activities.
  • Working with other Product Owners, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to plan business readiness and change management activities, develop and communicate product release plans, and set expectations for the delivery of new functionality.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in defined benefit pension administration or experience as a Business Analyst in the financial sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to effectively articulate ideas, problems, and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A self-driven, proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills – critical thinking, decision making, and creativity.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • A technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies and/or pension administration would be an asset.
