About the team and position:
The Robinhood Security Cryptography and IAM Platform team delivers cryptographic services and libraries that underpin Robinhood's infrastructure key management and data encryption. This team also develops engineering solutions and advisory services for Workforce IAM enablement across Robinhood's proprietary systems and services. Our focus is on enhancing the developer user experience for our cryptographic tools and establishing streamlined paths for cryptographic and authentication processes throughout the Robinhood organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing large-scale systems within the team, making informed trade-offs for risk management and long-term sustainability.Creating technical solutions with a high standard of engineering excellence.Enhancing system performance, scalability, developer experience, and security, while minimizing privacy and safety risks.Collaborating across various engineering teams to deliver extensive technical quality projects.Mentoring junior engineers and elevating the team's standards.Partnering with your manager to enhance team performance and contribute to building a high-functioning engineering team.What you bring to the table:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Over 10 years of experience in the Software Engineering domain, with a strong interest in security.Robust architecture and design capabilities.A passion for mentoring and coaching others.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to maintain a broad perspective.Experience in developing solutions that achieve both immediate results and long-term objectives.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across engineering teams.Technologies you will work with:
Proficiency in Go or Python, along with strong problem-solving and production debugging skills.Expertise in cloud-native platforms and container orchestration technologies (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka).Experience with authentication and authorization protocols/frameworks (OpenID Connect, OAuth, etc.) is desirable but not mandatory.Familiarity with key management systems or data encryption is a plus but not required.A strong sense of ownership and experience in building and operating high-scale, distributed systems throughout the software lifecycle.Our team is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming interview experience for all candidates.
