Steel Fabrication and Erection Technician Job Description

Vancouver Rebar & Damp Proofing Ltd. is seeking a skilled Steel Fabrication and Erection Technician to join our team.

  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe and efficient construction processes.
  • Perform job-site calculations to verify structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
  • Signal crane operators to position units accurately according to blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Align, weld or bolt units in place to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Inspect or test structures and equipment for deterioration, defects, or failure to comply with specifications or regulations.
  • Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
  • Unload and position steel units for efficient hoisting and placement.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate construction and installation.

This position requires a high school graduation certificate and 2 to less than 3 years of experience in steel fabrication and erection. The work language is English, and the job is a permanent position with 35 to 40 hours per week.
