Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Environmental Aide to join our team. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide environmental and unit support in patient care areas, working closely with staff to ensure a safe and clean environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental support in patient care areas, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Work closely with staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the unit
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Use domestic and commercial cleaning equipment and work with cleaning agents and germicides
  • Stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending, pushing, and lifting using good body mechanics

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Previous cleaning or healthcare experience an asset
  • Ability to work closely with staff and communicate effectively
  • Ability to set and adjust priorities and organize work in response to unit needs
  • Ability to use domestic and commercial cleaning equipment and work with cleaning agents and germicides
