Job Summary
The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the department, ensuring excellent customer service and quality products at all times. This position is responsible for assisting the management team in implementing strategies to increase department sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to drive department growth.
- Work closely with the management team to achieve department objectives and encourage team members to do the same.
- Ensure the efficient supply and merchandising of products, maintaining high standards of quality and freshness.
- Assist in managing staff and schedules, providing coaching and motivation to improve department productivity.
- Monitor compliance with procedures, policies, and hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Ensure quality customer service in the department, addressing customer concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the management team to follow up on department inventory, price lists, and merchandising, while respecting established budgets.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and ensuring safe storage of products, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Management experience is an asset.
- 6 months of experience in a grocery store environment.
- Good knowledge of products sold.
