Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team at Elite Telecommunications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications systems and be responsible for various tasks related to installation, maintenance, and repair of communication equipment.

Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role or equivalent experience
Work Environment
  • Installation of telecommunications systems
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Testing and service provision
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and tests on cable signals and related equipment
  • Repair and maintain cable signals
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment faults, making necessary adjustments or replacements
  • Oversee the operation of telecommunications devices
  • Install and maintain telephone systems, wiring, and associated hardware
  • Replace defective telephone equipment as needed
  • Test installed systems to identify transmission issues
  • Analyze results and modify systems, networks, and software accordingly
  • Document and maintain service and test reports
  • Identify the nature and location of technical issues
  • Install various trunking systems and circuits in telecommunications facilities
  • Utilize computerized testing systems for customer line evaluations
  • Set up cable modems and software for Internet connectivity
  • Maintain aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables and amplifiers
