HIV/AIDS Outreach Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our HIV/AIDS Outreach Team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide frontline primary health care services to clients in the community, focusing on vulnerable and marginalized populations at high risk for HIV/AIDS.
Key Responsibilities- Provide outreach services to clients in non-traditional settings, such as gay bars, drop-ins, and on the street.
- Offer pre- and post-test counseling for HIV antibody tests, as well as ongoing support and referral to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of HIV/AIDS clients.
- Provide harm reduction education, counseling, and support on issues related to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and HIV.
- Distribute harm reduction supplies and collaborate with community-based agencies to reach populations at high risk for acquiring STDs and HIV.
- Liaise with community-based AIDS organizations to plan, develop, and deliver preventive HIV/AIDS educational material workshops and programs.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two (2) years' recent related clinical nursing experience in community-based or Indigenous-led/First Nations organization providing screening, assessment, and treatment services to clients at risk and/or living with HIV/AIDS.
- Certification in Reproductive Health (STIs) with the BCCNM, as required.
