About the Role:

As an Occupational Therapist I with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and rehabilitation services. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping individuals, groups, or communities achieve their occupational goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services, focusing on occupational performance to meet the needs of clients.
  • Act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, functioning as an integral member of the healthcare team.
  • Engage clients, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.
  • Provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and supports.
  • Collaborate with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • BLS certification.
