We are seeking a highly skilled Senior LEO SOC Systems Engineer to join our team at Telesat. As a key member of our LEO SOC Systems group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software related to our operations systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain software to support satellite operations, including spacecraft data storage and visualization, monitoring tools, automation, and more.
- Collaborate with our Lightspeed satellite engineering teams to ensure our systems are sufficient to operate the Lightspeed constellation.
- Develop and validate operations systems, processes, and procedures to ensure highly reliable operations of our satellites.
- Develop mission operations procedures and processes for LEOP, Orbit Raising, and In-Orbit validation, and conduct training and rehearsals.
- Implement robust automation of operational processes to reduce the operational burden and ensure reliable operations.
- Monitor and maintain our GEO satellite operations systems in use for our current GEO fleet operated by Telesat.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, or Mathematics.
- Proven experience with operational systems, with a minimum of 4 years in similar roles.
- Experience with modern operating systems, programming languages, and frameworks.
- Experience with on-prem clusters and containerized systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
- Ability to obtain a NATO secret security clearance.
- Willingness to provide off-hours support as part of a call-out rotation.
