Job Title: Civil Engineer

Wood is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to design and develop mining and industrial projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design, with a focus on site development, piping, and stormwater management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop civil engineering projects for mining and industrial applications
  • Develop and implement site development plans, including pipe and open channel hydraulics
  • Conduct stormwater management and runoff calculations, sizing ditches, culverts, and ponds
  • Collaborate with geotechnical teams to interpret and apply design recommendations
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of various piping materials, fittings, and joining methods
  • Work with survey control systems and coordinate systems
  • Develop and maintain excellent organizational, technical, communication, and computer skills
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility to register or already registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
  • 6-12 years of experience in civil engineering design within mining, energy, and/or industrial projects
  • Strong experience in site development, piping, and stormwater management
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood
