We are seeking a highly skilled Concept Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Concept Artist, you will work closely with our Art Director, Character Artists, and Environment Artists to create a cast of believable characters and immersive game environments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing original concepts that fit within our project style guide
- Translating high-level ideas into production-ready art packets
- Maintaining the art direction while providing a variety of ideas and explorations
- Providing in-depth research, reference material, and developing conceptual ideas
- Creating lighting schemes and color palettes that capture the tone of the world
- Reporting to the Art Director
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of concept artist experience, including at least 3 years in the gaming industry
- Shipped video game titles
- Ability to create concepts from scratch and create color studies
- Experience with storytelling and concept development
- Fundamental skills including good use of line, light, shadow, and color
- Traditional illustration skills in multiple media and excellent drawing skills, matte painting experience
