Success Coach Position

Chinook's Edge School Division is seeking a highly skilled and energetic Success Coach to promote mental health and wellness among elementary and middle school students.

About the Role
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based social emotional learning and mental health programming to students in grades K-8
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate mental health promotion into the curriculum
  • Provide individual and group support to students, focusing on building skills and fostering abilities that promote mental health and wellness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance mental health services and resources
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health or social sciences field (e.g. health promotion and prevention, social work, nursing, early childhood development, public health, psychology)
  • At least 2 years of experience working in addiction and mental health or a related field (experience as a practicum student considered)
  • Familiarity with the developmental, educational, emotional, social, and recreational needs of children, youth, and families
  • Ability to research and implement evidence-based strategies to increase mental health and reduce stigma of mental illness in K-12 schools
  • Experience with delivering programming and facilitating classroom programming from Kindergarten to High School grade levels
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid comprehension and practice of personal and professional boundaries
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with young people
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable liaising with community members, school staff, community agencies, and healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of the local community and resources available
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs and working knowledge of social media
