Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to our Canadian development team, focusing on the creation of Forescout's next generation of security solutions through innovative and scalable applications in a cloud-based setting. If you are passionate about writing high-quality code, enhancing global network security, and tackling complex challenges, this position is ideal for you.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, data scientists, QA, and product management throughout the development lifecycle in an Agile framework.
- Research and draft design proposals for new solutions.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code across the full stack from database to frontend.
- Implement responsive UI designs and improve application performance.
- Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in software development.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Over 7 years of professional experience in backend development using Java, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Java-based web services in a Linux environment (C# or C++ may be considered if exceptionally strong).
- At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building single-page applications (SPA) using frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and experience with automation tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit, Mocha, Jest, Cypress, and/or Selenium for both unit and integration testing.
- Understanding of web security practices and the implementation of security measures at the application level using Azure security features.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote teams across different time zones.
- Experience in Agile environments, actively participating in scrums and working effectively within a team.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks as project requirements evolve.
