About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Process Designer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Energy, Resources and Industry (ERI) team, you will be responsible for designing and developing process systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop process discipline deliverables, including PFDs and P&IDs, using CAD software in accordance with company or client standards and specifications;
  • Draft mechanical or instrumentation discipline deliverables, such as general arrangement/details drawings, plan/elevation view drawings, and instrumentation loop/wiring diagrams;
  • Develop 2D or 3D CAD deliverables, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Conduct site visits or surveys to collect information and data in support of projects, as needed;
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other engineering/design departments to ensure successful project outcomes;
  • Meet project timelines and budget requirements, while maintaining high-quality deliverables;
  • Review and incorporate vendor and in-house coordination information/drawings onto project deliverables.
Requirements
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience in process systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities;
  • Minimum degree or diploma in chemical or mechanical engineering design and drafting;
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD drafting/modeling programs, including AutoCAD, CADWorx, AutoPlant, Hexagon, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft suite of programs (Revit an asset);
  • Proficiency in ANSI, ISA, and ISO standards on P&ID symbology;
  • Ability to attend industrial sites and observe all safety regulations;
  • Excellent organization skills, with attention to detail and high motivation;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with effective communication skills;
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and meet strict deadlines;
  • Valid driver's license.
