Canadian Orthodontic Partners is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our St. Catharines, ON team. As an Orthodontic Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic and personalized manner, building strong relationships with every patient.
- Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health.
- Collect and review patient dental and medical history to inform treatment decisions.
- Prepare patients for Orthodontist examinations and procedures.
- Take X-Rays and maintain accurate records.
- Examine gums for infections or gum disease and provide treatment as needed.
- Clean and polish teeth, floss, and brush to maintain optimal oral health.
- Bond and remove orthodontic appliances and brackets.
- Place and remove arch wires.
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
- Update patient records and examination notes.
- Perform lab duties and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Communicate with patients regarding aftercare and answer questions.
- Travel to satellite locations as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with the team to provide a supportive and respectful environment.
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist (preferred but not required).
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program.
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Experience in an orthodontic office (preferred but not required).
- Current CPR and First Aid training.
